Walking into the restaurant you feel as though you are in an enchanting botanical garden turned restaurant! Catch LA is beautifully decorated to the max with stunning real flowers all over, and they smell so fragrant and fresh! 💐
If you have ever been to Los Angeles, I am sure you have heard of Catch LA the sister restaurant to the highly acclaimed Catch in New York. This is a celebrity hotspot nestled right above the dynamic streets of West Hollywood. You can almost always spot celebrities when you eat here, we saw Bob Saget and Amanda Cerny enjoying their dinners…
Where is Catch LA? 🐟
Catch LA is not easy to miss, you could spot the flashy Catch sign from miles away… It is only a 5-minute drive from The Sunset Strip in Hollywood, so it is right in the action.
Arriving at the busy restaurant, you can either self-park or valet, but with how busy the area is I definitely recommend the valet!! And if you want to eat here, definitely call and make reservations a few days in advance because they are always super busy!! We walked in and went up in the elevator to the restaurant level and as the elevator doors opened, we were dazzled by the charming lights and incredible views of the city.

We had reservations for 5pm right when they opened… We arrived on time and they were already packed with people after only being open a few minutes. We were seated after about 10 minutes, they sat us in the perfect location with the best views and started browsing the menu. Being a mainly fish restaurant we opted for a couple of things that caught our attention right off the bat, like the truffle sashimi and the grilled octopus.
We started with the grilled octopus, marinated and perfectly grilled, this octopus was so tender and had the most amazing flavor! 😍 Octopus as delicious and unique as it is, isn’t a very common menu item, so when a restaurant has it my family and I always get it!!
Next the most delicious, melt in your mouth wagyu beef! I must say, I have never had beef that melts in your mouth like butter. Wagyu beef is from Japan and is known to be one of the most expensive breeds of cattle you can buy, and now I understand why! This dish was so fun too!! It comes with a hot rock you cook the beef on for 15 seconds on each side and then add the pickled veggies and ponzu sauce to taste. And oh my goodness, this was so incredible!!
Next, the truffle sashimi came, beautifully garnished with cripsy spinach & onion! This was albacore fish, it was a very smooth and light tasting fish, I really enjoyed it! I am not a big sushi lover because to me the texture and the fishy flavor doesn’t work. But I really enjoyed this albacore, it had the perfect light flavor and delicious sauce!
Last, but most certainly not least, the whole Branzino came out accompanied by a mix of arugula, squash, zucchini, artichoke, and asparagus. They topped the mixed veggies with a fresh citrus vinaigrette that seeped through to the fish, which gave the fish such a nice & fresh citrus flavor.
Overall our experience at Catch LA was incredible and very memorable! Some of our very good friends Denah & Tommy that live in LA took my family and I here to try the amazing food and we just had the best time!!
I have some very exciting posts coming up, so keep your eyes out! If you need some Europe Inspo you can check out my latest post on Budapest, FYI there are lots of yummy food pics in it! 😍💕
